What's up with me ... and the blog of course ...

I wanted to offer a short explanation as to why everything has come to a stand still. Truth is I just have alot going on and not much of it is good or happy ... so I just haven't been playing much and when I have had been so absent minded that I have forgotten to take or post the photos.

I will be updating occasionally when I can get the gumption up to do so ... but until then things will not be nearly as active here as they have in the passed. I apologize to all of you loyal followers who wait for the next post ... I would give you a regularly scheduled promise of a post of I could, but for now I just can't.

Hope all of you are out there happy and healthy and loving life ... I am not gone, just taking a bit of a needed break from the non-essentials. I adore you all ... and I am sure you know that :)

I love this quad ... I really do ... it is gorgeous. I have a thing for blues so this fit nicely ... even if it was suppose to be grey :D

As for the lipstick .. I love it in the pics but I promise you it didn't look as good in person on me. Gorgeous colour .. just not for me I don't think ... and the combination with Brick liner didn't work so I had to REALLY blend out the liner.

This is the final look I am doing from the M/A/C collection ... Off the Page e/s is fabulous! I am not usually huge on orange but this one is great ... even if it is an almost exact dupe for Fab & Flashy. The lippies aren't bad either ... kinda nice!

Purple (pink actually ...) Shower

This is look one featuring the individual shadows from the Makeup Art Cosmetics collection ... and I really like the combo. My original plan was to use all six together ... but I just couldn't coordinate it in a way that made sense to me so I went with splitting the look instead.

My only complaint ... and it really isn't a complaint, just an observation ... is that PURPLE shower isn't purple at all ... it is pink or I am the Virgin Mary!

Notoriety

This quad is a bit of a bust for me ... the highlight colour is fabulous and the darker colour is unique enough ... but the combo together is the Naked Honey collection all over again in every way. I am also not a huge fan of how orange the lippies look on me ... but the blush is great :D

Lots of talk has been about how much of a bust this quad is ... and in swatches it really is disappointing. But ... I have to think that it completely redeems itself on the eyes. Yes, it could use more sparkle ... and it is totally lacking in a suitable highlight for paler chicks ... but with a little Vanilla it is gorgeous!

Makeup Art Cosmetics Collection Swatches & Review!

Yay! Got the cord in for the camera today so I am back and ready to post some stuff.

I figured I would post my review and swatches here (you can also find the swatches on Majyk and Specktra) as repayment for being so patient with me while I was dealing with the camera issue. First ... the swatches ...

The quads: I am sucker for quads so these are getting bought ... but I do have to say that they are not as unique or stunning than the CoC quads from last year.

Notoreity is dupeable for the most part (the brown in it is unlike anything else ... think Trax shadow but with a brown base instead of plum).

In the Gallery has an amazing lilac (the second one down in the picture) and the rest are gorgeous purples ... but it is nothing terrible unique if you have a big collection.

Photo Realism is the most unique and special of the three ... get this one!

The shadows: I have to be honest ... the texture on four of the six of these is horrible ... the only two with easily workable texture are Crest the Wave and Off the Page ... the rest have to be built up.

The combo of these colours is awesome though!

The pigments: Heritage Rouge and Cocomotion are well known repromotes so I am not going to waste many words on them ... pretty ... but not terribly special. I have Cocomotion and it tends to go orange on me.

The other two are gorgeous but not terribly unique ... Push the Edge is MUCH like Grape piggie ... but has more of a blue flash, which I love.

Brash & Bold is very similar to Bright Fuschia but has more of a violet flash.

The glitters: the two Reflects are STUNNING ... the other two are just not special at all. I would get the reflects ... except that I NEVER use the glitters that I have now.

They are not eye safe ... which kinda negates the purpose for me.

The technakohls: I love these ... I really do ... but I am not getting any of them simply because I already have a million pencil liners and I never reach for any of them.

The texture on these is completely smooth but not smudgy ... and the pigmentation on all of them was good to great (Obviously Orange took some building to get that colour ... but the rest were easy).

The blushes: I have zero matte blushes ... so I can't really tell what I think of them because I have no experience with them on my face.

That said, The Perfect Cheek is like Viva Glam II lipstick in a blush ... so I can SO picture that lippie with this blush and a badass smokey eye.

Notable is a gorgeous colour in the pan ... but I am not sure if anyone under an NC/W25 could pull it off. It is very pigmented and has a nice satin matte finish.

The lipsticks: I DO NOT NEED ANYMORE STINKIN' LIPPIES! But dangit I LURVE these. While none of them are terribly unique (except for maybe Hold the Pose because it is kinda mysterious looking) they are just gorgeous.

I am sure I will get them ... and then kick myself later because I DO NOT NEED ANYMORE STINKIN' LIPPIES!

The lipglasses: Did I mention that I don't need more lippies ... I really don't.

Young Thing is nice ... but it is very similar to Bonus Beat from Heatherette and I think it needs more shimmer to be appealing on.

New Spirit is really pretty and has a sparkle that totally rocks, but colours like these tend to go orange on me.

Personal Taste is frikkin' gorgeous ... the sparkle factor is really something else ... but it looks like a million other pinks basically ... though I am afraid it is a tad more special than most of them.

On Display really reminds me of the plum lipglass from BBR (name escapes me at the moment) but is a more luxurious purple ... I am a total sucker for wine lippies so this is a must.


Anyways ... hope that helps. This collection has been out online for a few days and revealed itself in stores today. Go get em'!

On hiatus for a bit ...

Sorry bout this ... been busy and now we have a major camera disaster looming.

Long story short ... my children took my memory card out of my computer and lost it ... or something. So I went and bought a new one (did I mention that I have swatches of the Makeup Art Collection sitting on the damn camera waiting to be uploaded!) only to find out that when they stole the memory card out of the computer they completely busted the computer's memory card reader. Fabulous :(

Yes ... I know what you are going to say ... use the data cable that came with the camera. That is a genius idea ... except for the fact that I bought the camera three years ago, have NEVER taken the cord out of the box and have moved twice in that time so I have NO IDEA where the box is ... and believe me I have looked.

So ... I am ordering a new cord for it ... and then eventually am going to have to take the computer in to have the card reader fixed. Oy to the ve ... I will be back soon ... with GOOD stuff ... I promise :D

Eccentricity

I am slowly but surely making it through all the Colour Craft MES ... I think I only have one more to show you after this (actually wore the other one the other day and it was great ... but my dumb butt forgot to take pics of it!).

This is probably me least fave ... the colour payoff on the darker purple had to be built alot and I just don't like the four colours together. It is one of the only looks I think I have ever done where the black eyeliner just made it too much ... oh well ... better luck next time!
