MAC Lipstick Chart ... January Update!

Redhead

This is the final installment of the BBR collection from MAC ... and this one is definitely my fave. I can see myself using this MSF especially all the time because it is really versatile and gorgeous! They eye colours are also awesome ... lots of people complain about the texture and workability of the lustre shadows, but I love the sheen that they give and if you are only doing a portion of the lid, like I did, they are not a pain at all.

Blonde

Blech ... I don't like it! At least not on me and not as a combo ... I really love the colours by themselves, but as a big look together I think it makes me look kinda stark and washed out. Oh well ... at least I tried it!

Rant!

Hi all ... I just wanted to leave a message for all of you that follow this blog, because I think that you are the ones that I can consider real friends and those that I definitely do not want to lose contact with.

I am going to rant a little bit ... I am sick and tired of participating in a community where it is wrong to have an opinion different other than someone else ... wrong to love something that isn't "sanctioned" and most of all ... really tired of being told to take my thoughts and conversations elsewhere when those that I care about exist in the community that I am being pushed out of. I will not be doing that anymore ... because I refuse to throw support behind such a place. Those of you that know me through the online makeup world know exactly what I am referring to. And no ... I am not referring to Specktra.

Yes ... I know that it is just makeup ... but that has opened alot of doors to friendships that I never would have had otherwise. For those of you that are not terribly familiar with me, up until about six months ago I was all about Bare Escentuals. Then I got back into MAC and I love MAC ... always had ... and I knew when I started using BE that eventually I would add MAC back in because the products are just amazing. Alot of people in the community that I used to love being a part of have issue with that ... even though it is not their face.

I know that many of you signed up for this blog thinking that you were going to see BE all the time ... and for a while that is how it worked. I still love BE ... always will in certain ways ... but I am allowed to use whatever I want and TALK ABOUT whatever I want and it isn't hurting anyone. If you don't follow this blog as much as others because lately it has been mostly MAC then I am sorry you have lost interest. I will still be using my BE ... and just trying to get through all my new stuff, which is MAC stuff.

I am going to miss alot of people ... because many of those that I hold dear in that community do not check this blog and therefore will never read this message. Sisboo, Lisa, Cynthia, Aileen, Tasha and many of you others that I know may disagree with my response to the recent policy changes and happenings in our community ... I hope you can see past our possible difference in opinion and still keep in touch. I love all of you dearly and consider you real friends ... and the thoughts of letting a split in the community destroy that makes my stomach turn.

For those of you that read all the way through this ... thank you ... and if it doesn't make sense please feel free to post. Those of you that are a part of the community will understand what I mean immediately ... and are free to disagree with me. I just find so many things that are wrong and violating there are the moment that I have to back away from it for now. I love you all dearly ... and thanks for keeping up with the rant.

Brunette

This is the first of the three looks that I am going to do from the new MAC Brunette Blonde Redhead collection that I just got and OMG! love!!! Such a great collection ... amazing in so many ways. These are most of the products that I got from the Brunette section of this release, and I really like the look. It is a bit understated for me ... but with the week I have had this was as good as it was going to get.

Trax

Still going through my MAC palettes and trying to do looks with colours that I hadn't used yet .. so yesterday morning I came across these colours. I didn't buy them with the intent of using them together, but I am glad that I tried it because I really really loved this look. So many times people are afraid of red-purples because they can be really unflattering on just about anyone ... and I also try to avoid the pink and purple combo because it is just too overdone ... but I really like the way this one turned out. Ok ... gonna stop rambling now ...

I decided to play with some of the MAC neutrals that I haven't gotten alot of use out of, and I love all of them. Patina and Dazzlelight are two of my new favorites. Simple and neutral, and yet gorgeous at the same time. I love them!

Prussian Tilt

I have had the blue Chromaline for a few weeks now (luv ya Tish!) and hadn't really played with it yet, so today I decided to give it a shot. For those of you that are unfamiliar, these are MAC Pro products that come in containers like paint pots and make GREAT bases. They are extremely smooth and creamy, can go on opaque or sheer and are completely water-proof. This one is so dark that it kinda sucked up the colour (for instance, I used Sureal e/s which is kinda irridescent aqua, but the green tones were sucked up by the blue Chromaline) but I also have bought the white one, so I am counting on that one to make the colours pop. I really hope that I love these ... the texture of them is amazing.

BTW ... per the concern of one of my blog followers, I do want to point out that SOME of the Chromalines are not eye-safe. The white, black and blue ones are completely safe for the eye. The red, orange, yellow, green and purple are not intended to be used on the eyes. So no worries Nell, I am not putting my eyes at risk for this. Do not confuse this with the MAC Chromacakes, which are indeed not safe for the eye area. Thanks for your concern Nell!
