MAC Polar Opposite ... and a little about me!

For those of you that don't know me all that well, I will start this one out with a little introduction.

As long as I can remember I have been obsessed with makeup. I LOVE it! A good friend once called me "colour sensitive" because I can see two shades of purple eyeshadow that are nearly identical and my brain refuses to think that they are interchangeable because each is unique in its own way.

Anyways, these tutorials came about because I was a member of a Bare Escentuals message board and just started doing them for fun to show cool new combos. Little did I know that to many of the lovely ladies that frequented that board, and another board that I have since become very active on, those would be looked at as educational tools. I am thrilled by that ... and that is the reason that I have kept doing them.

I am NOT a professional makeup artist ... and I don't claim to be. However, I do think I know what I am doing from about ten years of just playing around and from lots of personal research about techniques, tools, textures, bone structure, etc. I absolutely DO NOT subscribe to any of the "what 'season' are you? ... your makeup should match your hair/clothes/skintone/dog's favorite colour" or any of the other "conventional wisdom" that I think so many women are tied down by. I wear what I like ... if it is a colour that doesn't really work for me then I can acknowledge that ... but at least I tried it! And I have rarely found a colour that I just couldn't make work for me ... or anyone else for that matter ... in some way or another.

I am a Kevyn Aucoin disciple ... and one of his big things is that you should never let anyone else tell you what to do with your own face. I don't care if someone tells me I am a "warm Autumn" ... cause I am not and nor would I care if I were.

Recently, I have branched back out into other brands. I still absolute LOVE Bare Escentuals and will ALWAYS swear by their products. But I have recently discovered that there are other products out there that are still alot of fun (MAC, TSS, etc.) and I have greatly enjoyed adding those to my arsenal. So here is one of those "off the beaten path" kinda looks.
